Chapter 3: Myth 2 – Jews and Arabs Lived Peacefully Before the Creation of the State of Israel
Here’s a partial list of attacks Arab Palestinians committed against Jewish Palestinians since the 1900s:
1920, April 4-7: Arab rioters targeted the Jewish Quarter and Jewish properties in the Old City of Jerusalem because of tension at the Nebi Musa Festival with Arab nationalist opposition. Jewish homes were ransacked, there were a few Jewish casualties, and the British restored order.
1921, May 1-7: Arab rioters attacked Jaffa and the surrounding area, specifically the Jewish communities of Petah Tikvah, Rehovot, and Hadera. The riot was a hostile response to Jewish immigration and land sales. The riots resulted in Jewish deaths and casualties, and the British intervened.
1929, August 23-29: Arab mobs killed 67 Jews in Hebron, 18 Jews in Safed, and wounded Jews in Jerusalem in a display of rising Arab nationalism.
1936, April 15: Arab gunmen killed two Jewish civilians in the Tulkarm area as a part of the rising Arab Revolt.
1936, April 19-21: Arab rioters attacked Jewish residents and shops in Jaffa, killing nine Jews and wounding forty others.
1937-1938: Arab insurgents in the Arab Revolt attacked Safed, Haifa, and Tiberius killing several Jews.
1947, Dec 2-4: Arab rioters, in response to the UN Partition vote, attacked Jewish neighborhoods, causing many deaths and property loss.
